Day 1

After a long drive, we will finally reach Ulgii City in Western Mongolia. This day we will visit a Kazakh family for dinner. If we reach the city before noon, we can also visit the local museum and take a walk around the city.

Day 2

The Western Mongolia Tour begins and we start our trek among the first yurt camps along the path that leads us to Khukh Davaa and towards Tsagaan Salaa where we will find petroglyphs. We will then have a short drive to arrive at the yurt encampment at the police control of Eki Asha where we will set up camp.

Day 3

In the morning, we will load all our luggage onto camels and head towards the Potanin Glacier. After 5 hours of walking (or riding a horse), we will reach the Meadows of Malchin at 3,200 meters, a magical place. For those who feel up to it, we can climb to the summit of Malchin (4,025 meters) the next day and enjoy a spectacular view, taking about 7 hours in total.

Day 4

From the Meadows of Malchin, we will continue to walk along the Potanin Glacier before reaching the Tsagaan Goals River, where we will find the yurts of the Tuvans. We will visit the Tuvans and set up camp near the Shivet Khairkhan promontory along the Tsagaan River.

Day 5

Our trip will take us to the mysterious Mogoit place with its ancient cemetery, where we will camp along a stream that also allows us a refreshing bath.

Day 6

We will reach the Sagsai area and set up camp on the banks of the river. We will then visit an eagle hunters’ family about ten kilometers away. The next day, we will visit the village of Sagsai along the road that leads to Ulgii.

Day 7

On the morning of the 8th day, our you will take a flight to Ulaanbaatar with our guide and stay overnight.

On the morning of the 9th day, we will take a flight to Ulaanbaatar with our guide and stay overnight.

This day you will be transferred to the airport for departure.

What to Pack
